EPCOT wheelchair accessibility

Step-free across Future World and the World Showcase. Disney's DAS virtual queue replaces standby waits for guests with developmental disabilities. Skyliner gondolas are wheelchair-accessible from Caribbean Beach and the boardwalk resorts.

EPCOT is the easiest of the four Walt Disney World parks to navigate by wheelchair: the loop around the World Showcase Lagoon is paved, flat and step-free, and Future World is on a single level with ramps between zones. The Disney Skyliner reaches EPCOT from Caribbean Beach and the boardwalk resorts and accepts wheelchair users in regular cabins.

Step-free entrance
The main entrance under Spaceship Earth is step-free, with an accessible security lane to the left of the standard screening lanes. The International Gateway between France and the United Kingdom on the World Showcase is also step-free, reached by walking from Disney's BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club, or via Skyliner to the Riviera and then on foot to the gateway.
Partially confirmed
Vertical access
EPCOT is single-level. The exception is Spaceship Earth, which uses an Omnimover loading system; transfer to a moving vehicle is required, and a dedicated transfer cart is offered for guests using wheelchairs. The Land Pavilion has an upper-level seating area reached by elevator. The other Future World pavilions are step-free.

Accessible toilets
Every restroom block in EPCOT has wheelchair-accessible stalls. Companion (universal) restrooms are signposted near Spaceship Earth, in the World Showcase between Mexico and Norway, and at the United Kingdom pavilion. The World Showcase is the longest stretch between restrooms; plan for a stop at the Showcase Plaza, Mexico, Germany or Japan.
Partially confirmed
Companion entry
Disney does not discount admission for disabled visitors or companions. DAS is the access program: enrol via live video chat up to sixty days before the visit, then book return times in the My Disney Experience app. DAS covers the registered guest and up to five additional party members on the same ride return time.

Getting there

Park your car in the main EPCOT lot off World Drive; accessible parking is in the rows nearest the entrance, requiring a valid disabled placard. The parking-lot tram is not wheelchair-accessible; plan to roll to the gate or ask for a courtesy ride.

Disney Skyliner gondolas accept wheelchairs and ECVs in regular cabins; the EPCOT terminal is at the International Gateway end of the park. Disney resort buses are ramp-equipped and stop at EPCOT's bus loop. The boardwalk is a flat half-mile walk from BoardWalk Villas, Yacht Club, Beach Club and the Swan and Dolphin hotels.

Inside the park

Pre-register for Disability Access Service through live video chat up to sixty days before the trip. DAS is intended for guests who cannot wait in standby lines because of a developmental disability such as autism. Once enrolled, the My Disney Experience app lets you choose a ride and book a return time; the wait is virtual.

Wheelchair and ECV rentals are sold at the Inner Gateway just inside the main entrance and near the International Gateway. Quantities are limited on busy days, particularly during the festivals at the World Showcase. Most attractions have a step-free queue with a transfer-to-ride-vehicle option; the Cast Member at the load zone will direct you.

Guest Relations near the entrance issues handheld audio-description and assistive-listening receivers, written show transcripts, and reflective-captioning glasses. The American Adventure show in the World Showcase has reserved captioning seating. Sign-language interpretation is offered on select days; check the My Disney Experience app for the schedule.

Tips for visiting

The World Showcase loop is just under 1.2 miles around the lagoon. Plan to enter through the International Gateway if you start at the United Kingdom side and want to walk the Showcase first; enter through the main entrance if Future World is the priority. The two halves of the park can each take a half-day at a relaxed pace.

The festivals (Flower & Garden, Food & Wine, Festival of the Arts, Festival of the Holidays) make EPCOT denser and more crowded; arrive at park opening for the easiest navigation. Companion restrooms in the World Showcase are clearly mapped on the park guide; plan stops in advance.
