Universal Studios Hollywood wheelchair accessibility
Universal City theme park with the working Studio Tour and ten major rides. Most ride accessibility details are best checked at Guest Services on arrival.
Universal Studios Hollywood is LA's biggest theme park, with ten major rides, the working Studio Tour and a slate of stunt shows. Ride-by-ride accessibility specifics (transfer-required rides, accessibility access pass mechanics, wheelchair or ECV rental cost) are not in any source we could verify; start at Guest Services on the Upper Lot for the current accessible-ride map and pass options.

Getting there
Universal Studios Hollywood is in Universal City, north of the Hollywood Hills off the 101 freeway. Metro B Line (Red Line) Universal City / Studio City station opens onto a free shuttle that runs continuously to the park entrance. The shuttle vehicles are wheelchair-accessible. From downtown the Metro ride is about 25 minutes step-free.
By car, the park's main lot is off Universal Studios Boulevard. Accessible parking is in the front structure with a step-free walk to the gates; specific bay counts are not on the materials we could verify.
Inside the park
The Upper Lot holds the entry plaza, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, The Simpsons Ride and most stunt shows. The Lower Lot holds Jurassic World: The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers: The Ride 3D. The two lots are connected by a long escalator stack; the parallel lift is the standard accessible route between them.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter sits on the Upper Lot. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the headline attraction; this ride is normally transfer-required, with a separate wheelchair-accessible loading area. The Flight of the Hippogriff coaster is also typically transfer-required.
Studio Tour
The Studio Tour is Universal Hollywood's signature attraction and the only one of its kind in the major theme parks. The tour takes visitors by tram around the working Universal back lot, with backdrops and sets used in many of the studio's films and NBC shows. A dedicated tram with a lift is standard for wheelchair users; the wheelchair-accessible tram runs less frequently than the standard tram queue, so expect a slightly longer wait.
The tour includes the King Kong 360 3D set and the Earthquake set piece, both viewed from the tram. Visitors stay in the tram throughout, so the ride is one of the most wheelchair-friendly attractions in the park.
Accessibility access pass
Universal operates an Attractions Assistance Pass (AAP) system at most of its parks; the system lets wheelchair users and a small group skip the standby queue at participating rides and return at an assigned time. The exact terms at the Hollywood park (eligibility, party size, ride list) were not on the public materials we could verify. Plan to ask at Guest Services inside the main entrance for the current AAP terms and ride list before you start the day.
Some rides are transfer-required even with the AAP; this varies by ride. The wait staff at each ride entrance confirm transfer requirements at the load area.
Tips for visiting
Visit on a weekday outside school holidays if possible. The park is at its busiest on weekend afternoons in summer and over winter break. The Lower Lot rides have longer standby queues than the Upper Lot, so route there first if those are priority.
Single Rider lines speed wait times for some rides but are not always accessible to wheelchair users; check at the ride entrance. The CityWalk dining strip outside the park gate is step-free and a useful break point during a long day in the park.
