Accessibility details
WhatDetailsStatus
Step-free entrance
The historic 1933 Post Office building has entry steps at the front, but a lift at the very front of the building lets wheelchair users bypass them and enter at lobby level. Staff direct visitors to the lift on arrival; you do not need to call ahead. Service animals are welcome throughout the museum.
Confirmed accessible
Vertical access
Elevator access is on every floor per the museum's accessibility statement. The self-guided tour starts on the third floor and winds down to the second and first; using the elevator between levels is the same path. The basement Underground speakeasy is reached by the same elevator system that serves the public floors.
Confirmed accessible
Accessible toilets
Family restrooms are on every floor of the museum except the basement. Plan the basement visit (the Underground speakeasy) around a stop on the first floor before you go down.
Confirmed accessible
Companion entry
The Mob Museum does not publish a companion-free admission policy. Standard adult admission is 34.95 dollars and the Nevada-resident rate is 19.95 dollars. The free wheelchair loan and on-site lift are accessibility benefits provided to every visitor, not a discount on the ticket itself. Check current rates on the museum's site before you visit.

Getting there

The Mob Museum is at 300 Stewart Avenue in downtown Las Vegas, a few blocks north of Fremont Street. The closest accessible-bus stop is on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Fremont Street Experience canopy, served by the Deuce and the SDX. Both buses are low-floor and lift-equipped.

Parking is west of the museum with four accessible spaces. If those are full, the Fremont Street parking garage one block south has additional accessible bays and a step-free walk back to the Stewart Avenue entrance.

At the entrance

The grand limestone front of the 1933 Post Office has a flight of steps to the main door. The accessible entry is the lift at the very front of the building, which staff point to on arrival; the lift brings wheelchair users up to the same lobby as the main steps.

The lobby contains the ticket desk, the cloakroom, and the wheelchair loan point. Wheelchairs are checked out free of charge on a first come first served basis. Service animals are welcome.

Inside the museum

The exhibit flow starts on the third floor with the St. Valentine's Day Massacre wall and winds down to the second and first floors. Elevators connect every level. The exhibits are densely packed; allow 90 minutes to two hours plus extra time if you want to read every artifact label.

The basement holds the Underground speakeasy and the on-site distillery. The same elevator system reaches it. Hours for the Underground differ from the main museum, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The Underground does not have a family restroom; plan the toilet stop before going down.

Tips for visiting

Buy tickets online before you arrive to avoid queueing at the desk, then collect the loaner wheelchair on the way in if you need one. The Nevada-resident discount is 19.95 dollars compared to 34.95 dollars for the standard adult, ask at the desk if you hold a Nevada ID.

Audio guides and self-guided digital tours run on a phone app, bring headphones and a charged device. The exhibits include flashing-light sequences in the Prohibition rooms, request a sensory map at the front desk if that is a concern. Service dogs stay with you the whole tour.
