High Roller wheelchair accessibility

550-foot Ferris wheel at The LINQ. 28 cabins of 225 sq ft each. 30-minute rotation. Step-free boarding queue. No published companion-ticket discount.

The 550-foot observation wheel at The LINQ has 28 cabins of 225 square feet each, large enough to enter rolling and to position a wheelchair against the glass. The 30-minute single rotation is slow enough that the cabin does not stop for boarding; staff time the load with the wheel still turning. No published companion-ticket discount.

Accessibility at a glance

Accessibility details
WhatDetailsStatus
Step-free entrance
The LINQ Promenade approach to the High Roller boarding area is at one level from the Strip-side gateway. The boarding platform is reached without stairs from the queue. The cabin-load floor is level with the platform when the cabin is at the load point; observation wheels of this design (continuous rotation, slow enough to roll on) accept wheelchair users at the same boarding point as standing passengers.
Partially confirmed
Vertical access
The wheel itself does the vertical work; the cabin completes one 30-minute rotation per ride. There are no internal stairs or lifts within a cabin; once boarded, the cabin is a single open floor for the duration of the ride. Cabin floors are level throughout.
Partially confirmed
Accessible toilets
Accessible restrooms are at The LINQ Hotel facilities adjacent to the boarding plaza. There are no toilets inside a High Roller cabin; the 30-minute ride is shorter than a typical pre-ride wait, plan a stop before boarding.
Partially confirmed
Companion entry
The High Roller does not publish a companion-free admission policy on the operator's accessibility surface. Tickets are standard adult, with daytime and night-time rates. The cabin is large enough to easily accommodate a wheelchair user and their companion side by side at the glass.

Getting there

The High Roller is at the end of The LINQ Promenade, the open-air pedestrian shopping street that runs east from Las Vegas Boulevard between Harrah's and the Flamingo. The Strip-side entry to the promenade is step-free, and the promenade itself is flat from Strip to wheel base.

The closest Monorail station is Harrah's and The Linq, a step-free walk from the platform exit through the casino concourse to the promenade gateway. The Deuce and SDX both stop on Las Vegas Boulevard directly opposite the promenade entrance.

At the boarding plaza

The boarding plaza sits at the wheel's east end. The ticket desk is at the head of the queue and accepts on-the-day sales; pre-booking online is recommended for the popular sunset slot.

The queueing area is level. Staff guide wheelchair users to the boarding point on the platform when a cabin is approaching the load level. The cabin floor lines up with the platform when the cabin reaches load position. Boarding is timed with the wheel still rotating slowly, the cabin does not stop.

Inside a cabin

Each cabin is 225 square feet with a 22-foot diameter and 300 square feet of glass. A wheelchair user has plenty of room to position the chair against the glass for a panoramic view. The cabin holds up to 40 people but the operator usually loads fewer; ask at the ticket desk if you want a private cabin (paid upgrade).

The 30-minute ride is one slow rotation of the wheel. The cabin floor is level throughout. There is bench seating along the cabin's edge for standing passengers who want to sit; the centre of the cabin stays clear for circulation and for the wheelchair user to keep a forward orientation toward the changing view.

Tips for visiting

Book the sunset slot for the best photography light; the wheel offers a 360-degree view of the Strip, downtown, and the surrounding desert ranges. The night-time slot lights up the Strip below; the daytime slot shows the mountain backdrop.

Drinks-served upgrade cabins (so called Happy Half Hour) are available; the bar set-up does not change cabin accessibility but does reduce circulation room. If you prefer maximum space at the glass, skip the drinks upgrade. The ride is gentle enough for visitors who are wary of fairground motion; the cabin does not sway noticeably.
