Book a wheelchair taxi in Chicago through the city's centralized WAV dispatch: call 1-888-WAV-CABS (1-888-928-2227) or use the Curb app. Private lift vans book by phone the same day. At O'Hare and Midway, ask the cab starter for a WAV or call that number before you fly.
WAV taxis charge the city meter or a Curb upfront fare. Private vans send a quote before you pay.

Curb / City of Chicago WAV dispatch
This is the tourist default. One number and one app reach licensed WAV taxicabs across the city. The Curb Chicago WAV page states the service as the City of Chicago Centralized Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Taxicab Dispatch Service.
Curb Chicago uses upfront pricing. The quoted fare includes estimated tolls and government-mandated taxes or surcharges, which can change if the route changes. A tip is added after the ride. Street-hail and rank taxis still use the city meter.
BriteLift
BriteLift is a Chicago broker for wheelchair and scooter-accessible vans, including airport trips. Call 847-792-1212 any time, book on britelift.com, or use the BriteLift app. The team recommends 24 hours' notice and will try to cover a same-day call.
You get a free quote for the destination, then pay in advance by card on the phone, website, or app. Extra passengers (2 to 4) ride at no extra charge if you tell dispatch the headcount. Email is not published on the official site.
Dream Care Rides
Dream Care Rides runs hydraulic-lift vans with Q-Straint four-point securement and door-to-door help. Private-pay visitors book same day at (708) 505-6994 with no prior authorization. Call early in the day. The service is 24/7, including weekends.
Published private-pay rates start at $65 and range up to $115 by distance and vehicle, then $3 to $6 per mile. A typical 10-mile trip costs $95 to $175. The quoted price is the final price. Email is not published on the Chicago service page.
Airport transfer
At O'Hare, taxi stands sit on the lower-level curb outside baggage claim at each terminal. Ask the cab starter for a wheelchair-accessible taxicab, or call 1-888-928-2227 before you land. The airport's published average fare to downtown Chicago is $50, traffic depending.
At Midway, city taxis use the lower-level inner lane at Door 2. The airport taxi page tells you to call Curb Mobility or 888-WAV-CABS for a WAV. The published average fare to downtown is $35-40. Midway also prints 888 928-2277; use 1-888-928-2227 from Ride Smart and O'Hare, which matches 888-WAV-CABS.
Shared-ride airport taxis, when a starter can pair passengers, use the 1 July 2026 Ride Smart flats: $30.00 per person O'Hare to downtown or McCormick Place, $22.00 per person Midway to downtown or McCormick Place, and $45.00 per person between the two airports. Ask the starter if a WAV is in that queue.
Residents only
Pace Taxi Access Program (TAP) cards are for certified paratransit riders. TAP cannot be stored in the Curb app. If you already hold a TAP card, request the WAV by phone and swipe the card in the taxi at the end of the trip. Visitors without TAP certification pay the taxi fare.
