Disability discounts in Bonn
Where a German disability pass gets the companion in free, where the disabled visitor pays half-price, and what to bring to the counter.
At four major Bonn museums a German disability pass gets the registered companion in free, and the Haus der Geschichte is free for every visitor. The same B mark on the pass also covers free companion travel on every SWB tram, Stadtbahn, and bus.

What to bring
Bring your German disability pass. The major museums apply the reduced ticket on presentation of the pass, and the free companion seat depends on the B mark on the back of the pass at most venues; the Kunstmuseum Bonn accepts the pass without requiring the B mark. Show the pass at the ticket counter or to the tram inspector. Foreign disability cards are not automatically recognised but are usually accepted along with a passport.
How to claim each discount
At the Beethoven-Haus museum on Bonngasse, the reduced € 10 rate applies on presentation of the pass, and the companion enters free; show the pass at the counter on the way in. The historic Geburtshaus has limited wheelchair access; the visitor centre and digital studios across the street are more accessible.
The Haus der Geschichte on the Museumsmeile is free for every visitor, no pass needed at the counter. The exhibitions are barrier-free, with lifts to every level and an accessible toilet in the basement.
At the Deutsches Museum Bonn, the 5 € disability rate applies on presentation of the pass, and the companion enters free when the B mark is registered on the pass. Disabled children and young people between 6 and 17 with a 50 percent rating or higher enter free.
At the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the reduced € 5 rate applies on presentation of the pass, and the companion enters free. The pass alone is enough; the B mark is not required for the companion seat here.
At the Botanische Gärten on the Poppelsdorf campus, admission is free Monday to Friday for every visitor. On weekends and public holidays, the standard ticket is 4 Euro and the disability rate is 2 Euro; the companion enters free when the pass shows the B mark.
On the SWB tram, Stadtbahn, and bus network, no advance booking is needed. If the pass carries the B mark, the companion travels free on the same vehicle. The disabled visitor themselves travels free if the pass has the orange-print right-hand panel; otherwise, the standard tariff applies.
