Step-free entrance
The entrance on Esplanade Andry-Farcy is reached on level paving from the Berriat Magasin tram stop. The main exhibition hall sits in a former industrial volume with a step-free floor and wide doorways suitable for wheelchairs. Specific accessibility features of the entry sequence are not described on the public information page, so call the venue beforehand if you ride a wide or long-frame chair.
Partially confirmed
Interior level changes
The Magasin's main hall is a single open volume; the contemporary-art programme rotates inside it. Mezzanines and back-of-house offices use stairs but the public exhibition route stays on the main floor. We could not confirm a passenger lift from official public sources because none is needed for the public route.
Partially confirmed
Accessible toilets
Accessible toilets are not explicitly described on the museum's public information page. We could not confirm their location from official public sources. Check with reception on arrival.
Unconfirmed
Companion ticket
Admission is free for the disabled visitor (carte d'invalidité, CMI mention Invalidité, or equivalent disability status) and for the people accompanying them. There is no cap of one companion at the Magasin; the wording extends to multiple accompanying persons where appropriate. Present the disability card at the ticket desk.

Getting there

The Magasin sits in the Bouchayer-Viallet district, a former industrial quarter just west of the Grenoble city centre. The nearest stop is Berriat Magasin on tram line A, served by fully low-floor trams with level platform boarding. Bus C5 uses the same stop. From Grenoble station it is about ten minutes on tram A without changes; from the Bastille cable car valley station it is a similar ten-minute ride changing at Maison du Tourisme.

Accessible parking is available in the surrounding streets; on-street parking is free at any meter when you display a European parking card (CES) or a French CMI marked Stationnement (CMI-S). For door-to-door rides, the M Flexo+ PMR service serves the venue on prior booking.

Inside the industrial hall

The Magasin's main exhibition space is a former Eiffel-engineered industrial hall. The contemporary programme rotates large installations and the open floor is the building's signature feature. The public route stays on the main floor, with no required lift use for the gallery visit. Wheelchair circulation in the open volume is straightforward, with wide doorways from the lobby into the main hall.

The bookshop and ticket desk sit near the entrance on the same level as the main hall. Any exhibition that introduces a temporary mezzanine or platform structure is signposted at the desk; ask on arrival if the current show has a non-floor element you would not otherwise reach.

Tickets, free admission and how to claim

Standard admission is 5€ and tarif réduit is 3€. The reduced rate applies to under-26s, students, RSA recipients and similar categories. Disabled visitors enter free, and the wording on the Magasin's public page extends free admission to the people accompanying them, not capped at one companion.

Present a Carte d'Invalidité, Carte Mobilité Inclusion mention Invalidité, European Disability Card or equivalent national disability card at the desk. The first Sunday of every month is free for everyone, so a visit on that day removes the documentation step entirely.

Practical tips

The Magasin is open Wednesday to Sunday 11:00 to 19:00. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Plan around that window if you arrive on a Monday or Tuesday; the Magasin itself does not open, but the Musée de Grenoble (open every day except Tuesday) and the three Isère department museums in the centre fill the day instead.

If the current exhibition includes light or sound installations you want to avoid for sensory reasons, the desk and the website's exhibition page describe the show before you commit to the visit. The opening times suit a late lunch followed by an early-evening visit when the hall is at its calmest.
